Born in Brussels in 1942, Francis FELIX studied philosophy and literature
at the Faculty of Saint-Louis in Brussels and then graduated in Law at the
Brussels University ULB. Today, after an active career in the financial sector
as a law advisor, he continues to play an active role in various associations
and cultural organisations in Gembloux and Ernage. He is, among other things,
a member of the administration team of the Gembloux twinning programmes and
a member of the Executive Committee of the Gembloux/Ernage-Skyros twinning
organisation.
Francis Felix has taken part in various poetry competitions and events in
Belgium and France and has won several national and international awards. He
has also published his own collection of poems : « D’envers et
d’avers », « Ciels et cieux », « Le chariot du
jour », and « Eclats de vers ».
Among the poems he wrote during his trips to Greece and on the island of Skyros,
he published « Rêves d’Hipparion», a magnificent poem
concerning the Skyros horse. The poem was read for the first time in front
of 500 guests in Gembloux on 6th May 2005, at the inauguration of the “Horse
Art” exhibition in aid of the Skyros horse.
